I am now offering Day Camp programs for dogs in Salt Lake City, UT!
***ONE SPOT REMAINS FOR JANUARY 2025***
Many of us have fond memories of day camps from our youth. Rather being left at home alone to fend for ourselves during long, boring summer weekdays, our hardworking parents gave us the opportunity to participate in fun and enriching Day Camp programs that not only kept us out of trouble but also left us with greater confidence and social skills, and allowed us to develop our natural talents to become more well-rounded individuals. As a kid, I was fortunate to participate in many camps like this, and in my late teens I even had the opportunity to work as a camp counselor, a job I really loved doing!
Our dogs today face many of the same challenges as the children of working parents during the summer: Long, boring hours left unsupervised and able to get into trouble, lacking exercise and social interaction, their natural talents left unused and undeveloped. Especially during the winter months when it’s dark ALL THE TIME outside of regular working hours, it can be difficult for the modern dog owner to fulfill their dogs needs in the short amount of dedicated, uninterrupted time they have together each day.
When I recognized this similarity between our kids and our dogs, I knew that I could use my skills and knowledge as a Dog Obedience Instructor, combined with my experience attending and working at youth camp programs, to craft a unique solution to the problem. I spent a lot of time researching and selecting the best training techniques and methods for such a program, and I’ve consulted with and visited the facilities of other instructors with similar offerings across the country to provide you with the best possible value!
You can think of AMPS Day Camps for Dogs just like sending your child to a daytime summer camp:
- Each Day Camp program lasts for a One Month Enrollment Period
- I have both 2 and 3 days per week programs available
- Every camp day, drop your dog off in the morning (7:30 – 9:00 AM) and pick them up in the evening (4:30 – 6:00 PM) at my training studio in West Jordan
- At the start of the program, we’ll set goals that the camp will help you and your dog achieve
- Every week, you’ll receive a personal video update with easy to follow instructions for evenings and weekends at home
- At the end of the month, you’ll also receive a 45-60 minute in-person Private Lesson ($120 value) with the instructor to help you maintain and develop your dog’s skills
Not only will your dog receive high quality, one-on-one training time with an accomplished Dog Obedience Instructor during Day Camp, he’ll also receive extensive social immersion with other balanced pack members, and have the opportunity to get his wiggles out during daily exercise periods for a more contented and pleasant companion at home.
